Tax Manager

Seasoned tax preparer with corporate, partnership, and trust experience!

This position will coordinate and direct the tax activities on behalf of the firm and its clients. Ensure team members have the necessary tools and materials to complete their tasks in a timely manner. Maintaining client relationships is paramount; it is the accountability of this person to maintain communication with all coworkers clients, keeping them in formed on the development, needs and assessment of tasks. As an important member of the Wehring Wealth Management team, it’s essential that you not only understand our brand but also that you take an active role in delivering a consistent experience to our clients. We are our brand’s greatest ambassadors and are responsible for living our mission, values, and purpose every day. Essential Functions and Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, functions, and evaluation of the tax department’s directives.
2. Actively participate in client tax and estate planning.
3. Ensure that all work and activities comply with legal methodology.
4. Manage and maintain positive client relationships while making every effort to exceed them; including service requests, scheduling meetings, assisting in completing paperwork and forms, and providing all information to the client. Respond to all phone calls and email within 24 hours.
5. Be responsible for the preparation and review of business and individual tax returns, tax reports as required by the firm, state, and/or federal agencies.
6. Prepare quarterly estimates as needed.
7. Analyze tax, accounting, and/or financial software and systems for correct functionality. 8. Manage CPE for self and tax team.
9. Communicate effectively and timely with staff about changes, decisions, productivity expectations.
10. Continually evaluate quality and time efficiencies; communicate if modifications are needed.
11. Adopt and assure the consistent use of repeatable processes to assure the firm maintains operations efficiencies.
12. Other accountabilities as required.
